Our Impact Story

Our Impact Story

Rangroots was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to create sustainable livelihoods for artisans from vulnerable communities while preserving traditional crafts and cultural heritage.

We work with three primary artisan groups who face significant barriers to economic opportunity:

  • Prison Artists - Providing rehabilitation and economic opportunities for incarcerated individuals
  • Tribal Craftspeople - Supporting indigenous communities to preserve their cultural heritage
  • Senior Artisans - Ensuring elderly craftspeople can continue their work with dignity

Through fair trade practices, skills development, and market access, we've helped thousands of artisans transform their lives while keeping traditional crafts alive for future generations.

Lakshmi Devi

Tribal Artisan

"Before joining Rangroots, I struggled to sell my traditional textiles, earning barely enough to feed my family. Now, I have a steady income, my children are in school, and I've trained 15 other women from my village. My craft is valued, and I can preserve our tribal heritage with pride."

Prison Artist

"Learning leathercraft during my time in prison gave me hope and purpose. After my release, Rangroots helped me set up my own workshop. Today, I employ three other former inmates, have reconnected with my family, and take pride in creating products that people value. This second chance changed everything."

Mohan Acharya

Senior Artisan

"At 72, I feared my pottery skills would die with me as cheap factory-made items flooded the market. Through Rangroots, my traditional pottery now reaches customers worldwide who appreciate its cultural value. I've trained 8 young apprentices, ensuring our 200-year-old family tradition continues for another generation."
